Learn how to crochet the "Wattle Stitch" a great simple stitch has a simple one row repeat and is fully reversible.

Crochet Wattle Stitch WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn

Abbreviations:

  • Ch = Chain

  • SC = Single crochet

  • DC = Double Crochet

  • Rep = Repeat

  • St = Stitch

  • Sk = Skip



Wattle Stitch

Pattern multiple: 3


Foundation: Create your desired chain length in multiples of 3

SC into the 2nd Ch from your hook.

SC, Ch1, DC into next chain (wattle stitch combo formed)

Rep Sk2, SC, Ch1, DC into next chain until you have 3 chains remaining

End with Sk2, SC into last ch.


Row 2: Ch1. Turn work. (ch1 does not count as a st)

SC into the first st.

* SC, Ch1, DC into the ch1 spaces of your wattle stitches from the row below*

Repeat * * until you run out of Ch1 spaces to work into.

End with Sk1, SC into last stitch of the row.

Keep repeating Row 2 until you reach the length you desire.


Tie off, and weave in any loose ends.
