Crochet Vintage Filet Granny Square WRITTEN PATTERN
USA STITCH TERMS
Hook Size(s): according to your yarn
Abbreviations:
· Ch = Chain
· Ch sp = Chain space
· DC = Double crochet
· Rep = Repeat
· St = Stitch
Pattern for Square:
Make a magic ring or ch 4 and sl st to join.
Row 1: Ch 5 (counts as 1 DC and ch 2) and rep (1 DC, ch 2) 7 times.
Sl st to join.
Row 2: Sl st into the ch sp.
Every st of this row will be worked in ch sp, not into any st of the previous row.
Ch 5 and make 3 DC in the same ch sp.
Rep *ch 1, 1 DC, ch 1, (3 DC, ch 2, 3DC)* 3 times.
For the remaining side, ch 1, 1 DC, ch 1, and 2 DC in the last ch sp.
Sl st to join.
Row 3: Sl st into the ch sp.
Ch 5 and make 3 DC in the same ch sp.
For each side, *ch 1, skip 2 st 1 DC, ch 1, 1 DC in the DC from the previous row, ch 1, skip the ch in between, 1 DC, ch 1, (3 DC, ch 2, 3DC)*.
For the remaining side, ch 1, skip 2 st 1 DC, ch 1, 1 DC in the DC from the previous row, ch 1, skip the ch in between, 1 DC, ch 1, and 2 DC in the last ch sp.
Sl st to join.
Rows 4-onward: Sl st into the ch sp.
Ch 5 and make 3 DC in the same ch sp.
For each side, work ch 1, skip 2 st 1 DC, rep *ch 1, 1 DC in the DC from the previous row* for however many st there are, ch 1, skip the last ch before the corner, 1 DC, ch 1, (3 DC, ch 2, 3DC).
For the remaining side, you will do the same except you will finish the row with 2 DC instead of making a full corner.
Sl st to join.
When you’ve reached your desired size, fasten off and cut the yarn.
