4mm Crochet Hook
USA Stitch Terms
Ch = chain
sp = space
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
tr = treble crochet (yarn over TWICE before going into the stitch)
repeat the pattern between the * *
Set up Rows
1/ into a Magic Ring, ch4 (counts as tr + ch1) 3dc, ch3, 3dc, ch1, tr
2/ ch4 (counts as tr + ch1) TURN 3dc into ch1 sp from row below, ch1, [3dc, ch3, 3dc] into ch3 sp, ch1, 3dc into ch1 sp, ch1, tr into 3rd chain
3/ repeat row 2 adding one more set of 3dc up the sides (please see video if unsure)
PATTERN REPEAT STARTS
4/ ch6 (counts as sc + ch5) TURN sc into ch1 sp below, ch5. *sc into ch1 sp, ch5* until ch3 sp at top.
[sc, ch5, sc] into ch3 sp
*ch5, sc into ch1 sp* until last ch sp then ch3, tr into 3rd ch
5/ ch6 (counts as sc + ch5) TURN sc into ch3 sp from end of row 4, ch5 *sc into ch5 sp, ch5* until ch3 sp at top
[sc, ch5, sc] into ch3 sp
*ch5, sc into ch5 sp* until last ch sp then ch3, tr into 3rd ch
6/ ch4 (counts as tr + ch1) TURN *3dc into ch5 sp, ch1* to top ch3 sp
[3dc, ch3, 3dc] into ch3 sp
*ch1, 3dc into ch5 sp* until last sp then end with ch1, tr into 3rd ch
Repeat rows 4 - 6 until desired size
PICOT EDGING
Worked into top of Row 6:
ch1, TURN, sc into top of tr from row below
*skip ch1 sp, sc into 1st dc, [sc, ch3 picot, sc] into 2nd dc, sc into 3rd* until top ch3 sp
[2sc, ch3 picot, 2sc] into ch3 sp
*skip ch1 sp, sc into 1st dc, [sc, ch3 picot, sc] into 2nd dc, sc into 3rd* until last cluster, end with sc into 3rd ch from row below. ch3 picot and sc into same ch.
BOTTOM EDGE
Working into the side spaces [sc, sc, ch3 picot, sc] until magic circle
ch1, ch3 picot, ch1 over magic circle then work [sc, sc, ch3 picot, sc] into side spaces
end on sc, ch3 picot into the top of tr from row below, slip stitch to join to 1st sc of the row.
