Crochet SEAMLESS Solid Square WITHOUT Turning! [Free Video Tutorial & Written Pattern!]

Learn how to crochet a Solid Granny Square motif - a completely seamless square WITHOUT the need to turn!

Crochet Seamless Solid Square WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn

Abbreviations:

·       Ch = Chain

·       DC = Double crochet

·       Rep = Repeat

·       St = Stitch

·       Ch sp = Chain space


(If using this square for the Festival Blanket CAL, Crochet 5 Rounds total for this square)

Pattern for Square:


Make a magic circle.

Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 DC) and make 2 DC in the ring.

Rep *ch 2, 3 DC* three times.

At the end of the round, make 1 DC on top of the ch 3 you started with. This acts as a ch 2.

Pull the tail end to tighten the magic ring.

Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as 1 DC) and make 1 DC in the same space.

Make 1 DC in each st across and for each corner ch sp, make (2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC).

At the end of the round, make 2 DC in the corner ch sp you started in and 1 DC on top of the ch 2 to close the round.

Round 3: Ch 2 (counts as 1 DC) and make 1 DC in the same space.

Make 1 DC in each st across and for each corner ch sp, make (2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC).

At the end of the round, make 2 DC in the corner ch sp you started in and 1 DC on top of the ch 2 to close the round.

Rep Round 3 for as big as you want your square to be. Each side will increase by 4 st as you go on.

Final Round: Ch 2 (counts as 1 DC) and make 1 DC in the same space.

Make 1 DC in each st across and for each corner ch sp, make (2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC). At the end of the round, make 2 DC in the corner ch sp you started in, ch 2 and sl st to join.

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Weave in the ends.
