Puff Stitch Petal: Rep *yarn over, insert hook in stitch, pull up a loop* 3 times for 7 loops on the hook then rep *yarn over, insert hook in stitch, pull up a loop* 3 times in the next st for 13 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through 12 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through the remaining loops on the hook.

Pattern for Puff Flowers JAYG:

Make a magic circle.

Round 1: Ch 1 and make 12 SC in the ring. Sl st to join.

Pull the tail to close the ring.

Round 2: Rep *ch 2, 1 Puff St Petal, ch 2, sl st in next st* across for a total of 6 petals.

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Weave in the ends. You can crochet as many of these flowers as you need and sew them together. However, if you want to JAYG, follow these steps:

To JAYG (first row),

Round 1: Ch 1 and make 12 SC in the ring. Sl st to join.

Pull the tail to close the ring.

Round 2: Ch 2 and make 1 Puff St Petal, ch 2, sl st in next st, ch 2, 1 Puff St Petal, grab the first completed flower, and pull the loop on your hook through the tip of any petal. Ch 2, sl st in next st of second flower and make 1 Puff St Petal. Pull the loop on your hook through the tip of the petal below the one you joined in. Ch 2 and complete the second flower as you normally would.

For the first row of joins, you will be joining at two points only. When adding the second row, you will join at three points.

To JAYG (second row),

Round 1: Ch 1 and make 12 SC in the ring. Sl st to join.

Pull the tail to close the ring.

Round 2: Ch 2 and make 1 Puff St Petal, ch 2, sl st in next st, ch 2, 1 Puff St Petal, and pull the loop on your hook through the tip of any petal of the corresponding flower in the first row. Ch 2, sl st in next st, and make 1 Puff St Petal. Pull the loop on your hook through the join of the flowers of the first row. Ch 2, sl st in next st of second flower and make 1 Puff St Petal. Pull the loop on your hook through the tip of the petal of the second corresponding flower in the first row. Ch 2 and complete the flower as you normally would.

Tie off, and weave in any loose ends.

When you have to join at four or more points, the method is exactly the same as joining three points. So when you join a petal to a petal that is when you'll go underneath the loop of the joining petal and where you have to join at a spot where you've already joined, just pop your hook in the gap.

So join a petal to a petal and a join to a join.
