Crochet Padded Heart WRITTEN PATTERN

USA STITCH TERMS

You can use any yarn and hook you would like.

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn

For the Solid Colour Yarn I used : Scheepjes Soft Fun with a 4mm Hook

For the variegated Yarn I used: Ice Yarn Cakes Blues Baby (shade: pastel rainbow) with a 4.5mm Hook.

Abbreviations:

Ch = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

DC= Double Crochet

TR= Treble Crochet

St = Stitch

Sl St = Slip Stitch

Extended DC= Yarn over, insert hook into st. Yarn over pull up a loop, yarn over pull through one loop. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through the last two loops.

Foundation (Magic) Ring: Ch 2, Place 3 TR into the ring.

3 DC into the ring.

DC, TR, DC into the ring.

3 DC into the ring.

3 TR into the ring.

Ch 2, Sl St into the ring.

Ch1 and place a SC into the Ch 2 sp from the beginning st.

Pull the ring closed.

Round 2: 3 DC into the first st.

3 DC in the next st.

3 DC in the next st.

1 DC in the next 3 sts.

2 DC into next st.

Place (Extended DC, TR, Extended DC) in the next st.

2 DC into the next st.

1 DC in the next 3 sts.

3 DC in the next 3 sts.

Place a SC into the Ch 2 sp from the beginning st.

Sl St into the SC from previous round.

Ch 1, and cut yarn leaving tail. Weave in loose ends.

Follow these steps to create a second heart.

Do NOT cut yarn.

Joining Hearts

Make sure the wrong side of your hearts are facing inward toward each other.

Insert hook through the first DC of Round 2 on the first heart, and find the same stitch (mirrored) on the second heart.

Put the loop from the Ch 1 from your second heart on your hook.

Pull the loop through both hearts.

Ch 1, lining up the hearts stitch for stitch, Sl St going through both hearts, Ch 1.

Repeat Sl St, Ch 1 for each st around.

Stop when you have just a few stitches left, and stuff your heart.

Finish Sl St, Ch 1 around.

Once you reach the center, create a final Sl St where you Sl St in rounds 1-2.

Tie off, and weave in end.
