Pattern for Motif:
Row 1: Make a magic circle and ch 3 (counts as a DC).
Make 1 DC, ch 1, and rep *2 DC, ch 1* five times. Sl st to join. Close the magic circle.
Attach the second colour. You will carry along your first colour while you work this row.
Row 2: Working in the ch sp before the join, make 1 stacked DC and 1 DC.
Make (2 DC, ch 1, 2 DC) in each ch sp across. When you reach the first ch sp of the row, make 2 DC and ch 1. Sl st to join.
Change colours. You will carry along your second colour and switch occasionally between the two.
Row 3: Working in the ch sp before the join, make 1 stacked DC and 1 DC. Switch to Colour B.
In the space between the DC clusters of the previous row, make 2 DC. Switch to Colour A. In the ch sp, make (2 DC, ch 1, 2 DC). Switch to Colour B.
This is how you’ll continue this row. Make 2 DC along the sides of the hexagon between the DC clusters with Colour B and (2 DC, ch 1, 2 DC) with Colour A in each corner ch sp. At the end, with Colour A, make 2 DC, ch 1 and sl st to join.
Row 4: With Colour B, working in the ch sp before the join, make 1 stacked DC and 1 DC. Switch to Colour A.
For this row, make 2 DC along the sides of the hexagon between the DC clusters with Colour A and (2 DC, ch 1, 2 DC) with Colour B in each corner ch sp. At the end, with Colour B, make 2 DC, ch 1 and sl st to join.
Row 5: With Colour A, working in the ch sp before the join, make 1 stacked DC and 1 DC. Switch to Colour B.
For this row, make 2 DC along the sides of the hexagon between the DC clusters by alternating between Colours A and B and (2 DC, ch 1, 2 DC) with Colour A in each corner ch sp. At the end, with Colour A, make 2 DC, ch 1 and sl st to join.
Fasten off and cut the yarn. Weave in the ends.
