The Yarn I used for making the 4 large squares in the photos is the Scheepjes Colour Crafter in the shades: Apeldoorn, Brussel, Leeuwarden, Maasctricht, Drachten, Wilnis, Harlingen, Terneuzen, Eelde, Delfzikl (available from Lovecrafts HERE ) with Scheepjes Colour Crafter in the shade "Pollare" for joining with a 4mm Hook

Abbreviations:

·       Ch = Chain

·       SC = Single crochet

·       DC = Double crochet

·       Rep = Repeat

·       St = Stitch

 

WRITTEN PATTERN

Start with a magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 3 and make 3 DC into the ring for the first petal.

Ch 3, turn, and make 1 DC in each st of the first petal.

Rep *ch 4, turn, and make 4 DC into the ring for the next petal. Ch 3, turn, and make 1 DC in each st of the petal* 7 times.

There should be a total of 8 petals.

Ch 4 and sl st into the starting ch 3 of this round.

Pull the tail of the magic ring to close the hole.

To mark the corners of the squares, add st markers to every second ch 4 sp.

If youโ€™re NOT changing colours, ch 1 and 1 SC into the ch 4 sp of the previous round.

If you ARE changing colours, attach the new colour to a corner ch 4 sp.

Round 2: Ch 3 (this counts as first st) and in this corner ch 4 sp, make *3 DC for the first petal, ch 3, turn, 1 DC in each st of the petal, ch 4 (mark this as the corner for the next round), turn, 4 DC for the second petal, ch 3, turn, 1 DC in each st of the petal, ch 4, turn*.

In the next ch 4 sp, make 4 DC, ch 3, turn, and 1 DC in each st of this petal. Ch 4, turn, and for the next corner ch 4 sp make *4 DC for the first petal, ch 3, turn, 1 DC in each st of the petal, ch 4 (mark this as the corner for the next round), turn, 4 DC for the second petal, ch 3, turn, 1 DC in each st of the petal, ch 4, turn*. Continue this pattern with two petals in each corner ch 4 sp and 1 petal in every ch 4 sp between the corners.

At the end of the round, ch 4 and sl st into the starting ch 3.

Rounds 3-onward: Rep round 2 for as big as youโ€™d like your square to be. You will be adding 1 extra side petal in each round.

To square off - OPTIONAL

Last Round: Ch 3 (this counts as first st) and in the corner ch 4 sp, make 3 DC, ch 2, 4 DC, ch 1.

In each side ch 4 sp across, make 4 DC, ch 1.

In each corner ch 4 sp, make 4 DC, ch 2, 4 DC, ch 1.

At the end of the round, sl st to join.
