Amigurumi Crochet Snowman

Crochet along with me to make you very own amigurumi Snowman friend! Step by step instructions with the added benefit of minimal sewing of pieces required (just the 3 coal buttons need sewing) ; it is a great project for if you detest sewing a million pieces together!

Alan the Snowman Written Pattern
(USA Stitch Terms)
Materials needed:
1 x 100g ball of Cygnet Chunky in White AVAILABLE HERE
Cygnet Chunky in black
Cygnet Chunky in red
A scrap of pink and black yarn for face details
4mm hook
10mm safety eyes
Stuffing
Stitch Marker
Needle
Scissors
Stitches used / Abbreviations:
MR - Magic ring / circle (you can substitute this for chain 2, work into 1st chain)
Sc (single crochet)
Inc (increase = 2sc in same stitch)
Dec (decrease = 1sc over 2 stitches) β I use the invisible decrease working in the front loops only
BLO (back loop only = work into the back loop of the stitch)
FLO (front loop only = work into the front loop of the stitch)
Repeat the pattern between the square brackets β[ ]β the number of times as shown by βX numberβ
The number in brackets β( )β at the end of each round is your total stitches that you will have worked in that round
Unless specifically instructed, work in spirals; do not join at the end of your rounds.

Place eyes between Rows 9 & 10, 6 stitches apart. Stuff the head.

Stuff the body firmly, try to keep his bottom as flat as possible so he will sit unaided

Cut yarn, thread needle and run through the outside loops of the last 6 stitches, pull tight then weave in.
Snowman Scarf β using red
1. Chain 56.
2. Sc in the 2nd chain from your hook and in every chain along (55)
3. Chain 1 then slip stitch loosely back to the end (55)
Chain 1, cut your yarn but leave a small length of yarn to act as a tassel.
Cut 4 lengths of yarn and loop into scarf ends to complete tassels. Trim tassels to desired length.
Snowman Buttons β using black β MAKE 3
1. Magic ring, 6sc, ss to first sc.
Cut yarn and leave long tail for sewing to snowman
Snowman Top Hat β using black
1. Magic ring, 6sc (6)

Cut yarn and leave long tail for sewing to snowmanβs man β if you do not wish to sew his hat permanently to his head then cut yarn and weave in your ends.
Snowman Assembly
Sew on little cheeks and smiley face.
Pin buttons into place and sew securely on using the tails.
Tie scarf around his neck.
(Optional) Sew hat onto the top of head.
